At Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Medicine, a conference titled "Use of VR and 5G Technologies in Health: An EU Project Example" conference was organised. In the event, the METACLINIC project supported by the European Union Horizon Europe programme was introduced. The speaker of the conference, ÇOMÜ Informatics Department Faculty Member and NaraXR CEO Dr Zafer Karadayı, who is also the coordinator of the project, shared with the participants the testing processes of the project carried out in Turkey and the integration of 5G supported VR technology into healthcare services.
Turkcell from Turkey is an official partner in the METACLINIC project, which is coordinated by NaraXR. The project aims to make remote healthcare services more accessible and effective with low latency 5G infrastructure. Thanks to the VR-based platform developed, doctors can provide real-time medical support to patients in different cities. In scenarios successfully implemented in different test regions such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Heybeliada, emergency response and remote examination experiences were simulated and user feedback was collected.
