WHAT IS INFORMATICS?
Informatics is the study and application of systems and technology for the collection, storage, processing, organization, classification, distribution and use of information. Informatics examines how information is produced, transmitted and used, the nature of information in various forms and its relationship with ideas. For this purpose, it is essential to obtain, classify, store, retrieve, recall and direct information to the relevant units.
Informatics finds its place in library studies in terms of the organization and classification of information, and in the field of computer and communication technologies in terms of the communication of information. How information is used in organizations, what its economic value is, how it is used in policy making, etc. is within the scope of informatics.
Informatics deals with the production of information systems for these purposes. It aims to produce complete, complete and useful information systems by first determining what the information system to be produced is, how it will be designed and then what will be used to realize this design. The fact that the use of computers has actively and intensively entered all areas of life has made it compulsory to be familiar with computer sciences and remote communication in computer environment in all branches, regardless of science and social sciences.
